How you can get healthier and longer hair!

Healthy Hair!!!

I am so happy y’all requested for me to share my hair routine because I believe my methods have truly helped my hair grow. Aside from the typical, these are a few different things you can do to get closer to those long healthy locks of GLORY!

My journey

I have always been known to have long hair because of my faith but there was a time when my hair wasn’t so long. I experienced something I had never felt before and that was knowing my hair wasn’t what it used to be. I didn’t want to except that my long beautiful hair that once grazed my hips was now mid-back!!! How did this happen? Well honestly it was a number of things that lead me to this point and a there were a few significant changes I had to make in order to reverse this dreadful situation. I struggled with have perfect hair all the time syndrome (Yes I totally just made this up but in all actuality y’all this is a real thing) this is when you style your hair every single day with hot tools to get that perfect look! OKAY, Y’ALL THIS IS CRAZY. Why would we want to fry our beautiful hair to look “beautiful”? The answer is because we don’t know the power that is in our hair. Our hair is our gl0ry as women we should do our best to protect and care for it!!!! Once I started using heat protectant and went on a NO HEAT CHALLENGE FOR A YEAR things started to change. This was where I literally only put hot tools on my hair for the A-List items and honestly, I just learned to love sponge curls and my natural look! Slowly but surely there was growth!

The second thing I had to address was my eating habits. I had an unhealthy self-image which caused me to take a healthy life style change of losing weight to the extreme where I would derive my body of food. I lost around 50 pounds completely altering my body but to a point where eating food was something I enjoyed not doing. I acknowledge that losing weight is a good thing but it is when you begin starving yourself that it becomes a problem. I can even admit now that I am not thrilled with my body size but the difference is this time I’m going to change it with good measures. I also know that my weight is a number and there is always going to be someone who is prettier, skinnier, smarter, and more beautiful than me. But there will never be anyone else that is ME, nobody else will have the unique things that make me me. I also found my self-worth and image wasn’t coming from my GOOD, GOOD FATHER (Jesus) but was coming from the world. After I prayed and worked hard eventually I had a heart change and a big talk with Jesus where I learned he designed me just as he wanted me to be. I was reminded that my body was a temple of the Holy Spirit and that I should take care of it but that starving myself wasn’t the way. So all this is to say once I adopted good eating habits (giving up soda, drinking water, and actually eating nutritious foods) my hair slowly but surely started to grow.

The third thing I changed was my routine. I started taking vitamins every day (I’ll link them below), washing my hair twice a week with a shampoo that was actually good for my hair (I’ll link below), starting the inversion method, hot oil treatments, not hot tools, and loving the hair I had.

Before I get into more detail the answer is yes you will find that this was an expensive process but in the end, I have found that it is well worth every red cent.

THE GOOD STUFF

The Inversion Method: Look it up on youtube, and google it! I hope to make a tutorial myself because I couldn’t find any videos worth sharing. BUT IT DOES WORK!!!!

Love the hair you have because it’s yours. You must be content with what you have before God can bless you. Recognize the beauty and power in your hair. Understand you must protect it to keep it.

is prayer and drinking lots of water. I literally have prayed for my hair to grow every single day with a pure heart recognizing that my hair is my glory. I drink loads of water + plus write it on my prayer wall.

RESULTS: MY HAIR HAS GROWN SIGNIFICANTLY. I DON’T HAVE ANY EXTENSIONS IN & GOD HAS HEARD MY PRAYERS. THE OTHER THING IS EXTENSIONS ARE A GREAT QUICK FIX TO HAVING LITTLE OR SHORT HAIR. IN THE PAST I HAVE WORN TAPE IN FROM SALLY’S. WARNING THESE ARE A HASSLE AND THEY ARE EXPENSIVE.
