Love Modest Rose X 1998miss

October 1, 2019

Hello, all my guys and dolls!!! Happy Tuesday from me! I hope you’re having a blessed day filled with Jesus! Today’s blog post is in collaboration with LoveModestRose a modest fashion label based out of Michigan! I was so excited when the opportunity arose to work with them because they have so many classy pieces!

EXCITING: I will be working with them again in the coming weeks and I can not wait to share those looks!!!

Today I am sharing how I styled The White Giovanna Lace Crop Top Maxi Dress!!!! A beautiful dress that seriously is so flattering. I’m being 100% real in my review when I say it is a solid 10/10! I also wanted to suggest that if you’re looking for a classic bridal look this dress could easily be that for you! Great for the big day if you’re going with something a little more BOHO/laid back….also great for a bridal shower! It is very well made with lining underneath! It has a zipper up the back that is that extra beautiful neutral little detail. Its cropped so again it looks amazing! It’s suprisingly very comfortable too! I plan to wear it to a more formal event this week so stay tuned on the gram to see that! @1998miss Anyways let’s get down to it!

Thank you love Modest rose for this dress. You can shop it here: Follow them on Instagram @lovemodestrose❣️

Good afternoon, evening, morning or whatever time you’re reading this! I am so happy that you’ve taken the time out of your day to visit This is the first blog post back in the game after taking a considerable amount of time off-intentionally. I chose to do this because of some negative experiences I encountered this summer. BUT I’m BACK & IT’S WITH SOMETHING REALLY GOOD.

Today I’ll be sharing the beautiful “ALEXA DRESS” from Modest Poppy! You heard right, there is actually a dress named after me!! HOW BLESSED/COOL/FANTASTIC IS THAT! Forgive me as I publically freak out!!! I’m just so happy that I’ve made it to that point in my blogging career, it’s been a journey! Thank you Modest Poppy for creating this beautiful moment. I am so ecstatic that I had the opportunity to work with you. Oh, if you want to shop Modest Poppy you can do so here: (which you totally should because the ALEXA DRESS IS THERE AND THIS SO CUTE TULLE SKIRT THAT THEY JUST RELEASED!!!)

In an effort to show the greatness of the Alexa Dress (that’s just never gonna get old LOL) I styled it three different ways! I’ve styled it for a comfy day out with sneakers, for a dressy brunch or morning service at church and finally for whatever fancy plans you may have! Of all three styles my favorite is number three but I’ll leave it up to you! Let me know, which, you like best!!! I’d also love to see how you spice it up!!!

Anyways thanks for stopping by! A big thank you to Modest Poppy for this collaboration and for giving me the honor of having a dress named after ME! My Fall Favorites: A list + fall inspiration.

September 27, 2018

Fall inspiration.

I love fall y’all! It is seriously one of my favorite seasons of all time. Fall to me means Thanksgiving, sweater weather, booties, warm coffee, beautiful leaves, pumpkins, fall candles, blankets and the crisp fall air.

I’m excited for this fall because I have special plans for fall break and Thanksgiving! I am working hard daily so I can enjoy and rest during these breaks spending time doing things I love.

My inspiration for fall comes from everywhere! I love searching fall on instagram, pinterest and of course in magazines! I’m always curious to see how people are celebrating fall in unique yet specific ways. Below you’ll find traditional ways to celebrate, unconventional ways, my favorite fall scents, movies, words and quotes.

 Traditional ways to celebrate fall:

Order a warm Starbucks drink and post about it.

Visit a pumpkin patch.

Carve a pumpkin.

Do a cute fall photo shoot with the leaves.

Wear cute fall clothes.

Corn Maze it up.

Light a fall candle.

So this blog post it to remind you of those wonderful and traditional methods of celebrating fall- also to inspire you to maybe do something unconventional.

More unconventional ways to celebrate fall:

Write a list of people you are thankful for and mail them a note (like actual mail not message but using cute fall stationary)

Legit go apple bobbing-like make it an actual event for your loved ones and either hang apples by string or do it in water!!!

Have a sleepover with all your best pals and talk about your favorite things about the season of life you are currently in.

Instead of watching new scary movies get all your pals together and watch some old frights because most likely they will leave you laughing.

Go to a football game with your loved one and drink hot chocolate.

Eat a fall breakfast.

Go on a weekend getaway and document it.

Start running.

Get up earlier to use all of the daylight.

Volunteer at a soup kitchen.

Paint a pumpkin instead of carving it.

Don’t order a PSL but order something unconventional.

Start a novel.

Write a poem.

Think about how blessed you are and do something to show your thankfulness.

Make Halloween Pancakes – Check out Pinterest.

My favorite fall quotes:

“Pumpkin kisses and harvest wishes.”

“Life starts all over again whe nit gets crisp in the fall” -F. Scott Fitzgerald

“The trees are about to show us how lovely it it is to let the dead things go.”

“I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers”- Anne of Gree Gables

“Fall has always been my favorite season. The time whe everythig bursts with it’s last beauty, as if nature had been saving up all year for the grand finale.”- Laure DeStefano

“The only thing getting lit this weekend are my fall scented candles.”

“There’s always something to be thankful for!”

“Trick or Treat yo’self”

My favorite fall words:

Sweater Weather

Falling Leaves

Crisp Fall Air

Hot Apple Cider

Trick or Treat

Corn Mazes

Cuddling under blankets

My favorite fall candle scents:

Autumn Leaves -Yankee Candle

Pumpkin French Toast -B&BW

Marshmallow Fireside -B&BW

Apple Cinnamon-ALL OF THEM

Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin

Sweater Weather

Salted Carmel -Yankee Candle

My favorite fall movies:

Hocus Pocus

It’s The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown

Halloween Town

Monsters Inc.

She wore a blue dress to the library….

February 12, 2018

The Blue Dress

Hey, Y’all! This post is a little late but I am so excited to finally be sharing the details from my DuPont library shoot! This was literally so much fun and I rarely do indoor photoshoots! I actually work in the library so I have thought of doing a photoshoot there for a while! Another inspo came from one of my all-time favorite Instagram/bloggers @belleoftheball45 Abigail! Follow her blog here! She’s the cutest little preppy college gal who always has cute photos in the library!

Since I practically live here I thought a photoshoot would be fun + add a little spice = The Blue Dress!

Shoutout to my favorite little photographer/roommate Miranda! You always help a girl out and keep going! Seriously Y’all I could not do it without her!

So anyways this blue dress was something I ordered for an event at Sewanee but didn’t actually end up wearing it. The blue dress is by one of my favorite designers and has a killer shape! It is an Adrianna Papell Hi-Low Sleeveless Taffeta Gown! Get it here!!

My shoes are from Dillard’s and they remind me of SJP! She’s like my all time fav! Watch my unboxing video on youtube here!!

I wore a very similar style in red to my highschool graduation and absolutely loved it!!! The little black lace sleeves were a modest addition and I wore the red dress the same way. The black top is from Nordstrom and it is literally a modest fix for everything!

Also, I am sharing a few of my favorite books during this shoot and I highly recommend you check them out! ESPECIALLY if you love fashion/coffee table books.

“Worth It” by Nicole Arnold available here!!

“That’s What Fashion Is” by Joe Zee available here!!

“Fashion” available here!

I’ll be doing a special post to talk about “Worth It” by Nicole Arnold soon! It is a book every gal needs to read and have on hand. Nicole is a talented writer and so relatable. Look for that very soon!!!!

That’s all for this post! I hope you enjoyed it and get inspired to go your local library! Shoot some photos in a formal gown just for fun!

P.S. Check out my latest crown braid tutorial on my youtube channel & subscribe here!

Bless others and Be BLESSED!

A Classic Denim Look!

January 3, 2018

Skirt: Jean Skirt from Paris, France / Slides: Gucci Dupes / Shirt: Banana Republic Similar Style / Shades:  (Christmas Gift) Gucci  / Structured Red Bag: Dior

Hey friends!

I am so delighted to share more details about this classic yet trendy day time look! It was SO EASY and I love the way it looks! Let’s be honest every gal loves a good pair of denim jeans or in my case a good jean skirt! I love this one because it’s light wash, has so modest ripped details and it hits just past the knee! It goes with literally everything and I love to put overly dressy shirts with it. Pumps or new balances go either way and LOOOOVE YOUR LOOK!

Literally I love denim! It’s an all American classic! I’m linking some great denim skirts below.

The most classic style

The zipper style

The button down

The trendy

The mom denim skirt

Las Vegas, Paris Edition

January 3, 2018

Hello friends! While many of you know I am currently adventuring in Viva Las Vegas you need to be updated on my recent Parisian adventure! I had convinced my roommate that I was actually in Paris for the New Year (never actually saying France) and with my multiple trips to the Las Vegas, Paris it actually felt like I was. 12/10 reccomend visting this beautiful hotel if ever in Vegas and apsolutely make time to eat at the restaurant. It is $$$$ but it is worth every penny. The experience was so memorable and we got a package deal to save money! While we thought we would be eating dinner in the Eiffel tower we found brunch was actually the plan. Brunch was incredible-literally the best I have ever had. (that’s saying something since I love food and have been to the eiffel tower in Paris, France) I enjoyed a classic favorite of mine eggs benidict but witht the added flavor of lobster! We had pumpkin bisque, baquuettes, french onion soup, creme brulé and mock mimosas. Y’all just take my word for it-AMAZING.

On a second adventure to the hotel we enjoyed parisian crapes, giant paris “fancy” beverages, (which I have great things planned for) and visiting in the scenic surroundings. The hotel was perfect for endless pictures which I took advantage of! Shoutout to my mom and brother for being number one! As many of you usually ask I do use a cannon camera but during this trip I have used my iPhone 8+ camera! (does the trick just fine and is much quicker.

I hope you all are enjoying the new year and don’t miss yesterday’s post about my 2018 goals!!!

I brought home Miranda and am showing her the ropes for farm living in Missouri (it’s an adventure every day)! Alpha Delta Pi, Iota Delta Installation Dinner

April 26, 2017

Alpha Delta Pi

Iota Delta, The University of The South

Sewanee, Tn

Installation Dinner at the Sewanee

This was a grand occasion I will never forget. We celebrated Alpha Delta Pi, the future of Alpha Delta Pi, Iota Delta, and our newly elected girls! We enjoyed a delicious dinner complete with some very special Strawberry Cake! I was so excited I could share this night with both my Nashville mom, best friend, sisters, and MOM!!!!!

DRESS: Dillard’s, Similar Style here! (My mom brought me this but I can’t find the dress online! It is a sale item!)

Shoes: Name Brand Clothing, Similar Style here! UNDER $30!!!!

My thoughts.

It is crazy how much you can connect with something so quickly. I hope that every young lady living on a college campus away from home joins a sorority where they find a fit because it gets lonely being 10+ hours from home and sometimes you need a sister! A sorority should be all things wonderful and nothing not. Everyone has preconceived notions about sorority’s and that’s okay I did too. It wasn’t until I rushed at Sewanee and found Alpha Delta Pi that I knew I could also fit in a sorority. I found a place where I was welcomed and treasured for my spicy differences! It was cool that I was a blogger, cool that I had a commitment to modesty, it was great that I came from the midwest, it was great that I loved Jesus, and it was okay that I didn’t do the conventional sorority activities. My sisters saw me for my true self and I was appreciated! I came home to a group of gals who love me and who love strong young women.

So when it comes to your sorority experience go with your heart because it is always the place you long to be. If would have followed my thoughts instead of my heart I wouldn’t be an ADPi Gal, or Recruitment and Marketing Vice President for Iota Delta. I wouldn’t be in an atmosphere where I truly felt a fit and I wouldn’t be where God intended me to be.

Alpha Delta Pi is a sisterhood built on a strong foundation by six young ladies who came from strong religious backgrounds and I am so blessed to be apart of that.

So while this post is about the fabulous installment dinner for Iota Delta it is also about recognizing how blessed I am to be studying at Sewanee, serving as Recruitment and Marketing Vice President and living out my dreams! God has always got the best plan for me and that is why it is important that I trust him.

Mom you have given me the greatest example to follow as a Proverbs 31 woman and as the woman who loves life (and kills at it)!

You inspire me on a daily, you are the reason I am who I am, you are literally the most beautiful person in the world and you are my best friend. I LOVE YOU MOM.

I owe every bit of my accomplishments to you because I couldn’t have made it here without you.

Now I just wish I could fast forward through finals and come home!

Thank you for reading,

I love y’all!

Alexa Dudley

All BLACK so CHIC #Mourningtheweekend

February 27, 2017

All BLACK so CHIC #Mourningtheweekend

YES I AM MOURNING THE WEEKEND THIS MONDAY! I wanted to wear all black because ultimately it is the classiest look + I actually had a really hard time pairing these little sock booties with anything else! I hope to find more “fun” ways to dress them up, so look for that soon! OH & THESE LITTLE TRENDY BLOGGER BOOTIES ARE ONLY $20! Dullard’s 65% additional off of 40% off! You know I am a bargain shopper so I am rocking the trends for a way better deal! Invest in fashion but don’t go crazy! LOL I say this with guilt behind the statement too but just think of it this way, these shoes are only going to be in for a little bit! I also plan to give them a few wears and then pass them on to GOODWILL because with buying new clothes/shoes I have to give something away in exchange or I have to use temporarily. This is my new mindset after giving away 4 massive trash bags of clothes to Goodwill in Nashville and reading The life-changing art of tidying up over Christmas Break!! Thanks mom you were so right! I totally 10/10 recommend you 1) Buying this book & reading it 2) Detox your wardrobe 3) LET GO OF SOME THINGS.

Monday is so busy for me with classes all day, a quick lunch break, a long shift at work, two Alpha Delta Pi meetings, and then Chapter!! I really loved getting to meet the lovely ladies who are our advisors for ADPi tonight & getting to celebrate sweet Ashlyn’s nineteenth birthday! XO girl love you!

I also wanted to say thank you to dumpling for taking the time to photograph this look today-you are my best friend! I love you girl!!! These photos were taken on Sewanee’s beautiful campus but with an iPhone because I still haven’t found my camera charger 🙁

I am mourning the weekend in this look but I am doing it with 100% chicness! Lol.

Black Skirt: Postmark *Same Skirt but mine is old (Forever 21)

Fringe Petite Jacket: Venus *Similar Style (Mine Dillard’s)

Space/Glitter Sock Boots: Dillard’s *Similar Style (Mine also Dillard’s/same brand but sold out $20)
