MODEST SKIRTS YOU NEED IN YOUR CLOSET ALL UNDER $20!

April 12, 2018

Hey y’all so a few days ago I opened a package up on my insta story showing a bunch of skirts my mom picked up for me during her trip to Las Vegas to see my uncle. Today I will be linking my fav new high waisted denim skirt + a few others from that story.

Let me tell y’all about how fabulous this little light wash, star detailed, slightly frayed high waisted skirt is!!! It fits like a glove and is so fun. It is the most high rise skirt I own and it is knee length-YAY! That is one of my biggest challenges with high rise skirts but this one checks all the boxes!

If you’re in the market for the perfect little denim skirt to add to your collection this is the one.

Hight Waisted Denim Skirt: David Buffalo | Similar Black Half Sleeve Shirt: Chico’s | Pink Pink Slides: Free People |

Note: My skirt was purchased for under 20$ at Burlington but I couldn’t find direct link. It was purchased this week so should still be in stock. Also this skirt is sold at a few other places besides Burlington so I linked that above! This black shirt has been a staple of mine for a few years now and it came from Forever 21! The Pink Pink slides are from Free People and I scored them for $10 during the Dillards New Year Sale! The great news is that they are still available at Nordstrom but the sad news is they are full price-$100.

While this is my favorite skirt I got a few more that are also worth checking out especially because they don’t compromise comfort to be stylish! They are all skirts that would be great either for a daytime look or an evening look it’s all about how you style it! Today I am actually wearing the little navy strechy skirt and it has been so comfy + so chic for class! It is perfect for  Sewanee Class Dress and I am so delighted it has made an addition to my go to skirts!

Here’s a few more!

This skirt is the one I’m wearing today and it is so comfy!!! I got it in three colors: Light Pink, Navy & White! IT IS UNDER $14

Get it here: Burlington

This skirt has such cute detail and a great wash! It is under $20!

Get it here: Burlington

I love this darling pink skirt with a ruffled hem! The ruffle is the perfect extra detail but it is still simple and classy! It’s under $14!

Get it here: Burlington

This little navy skirt is perfect for a fun girly look! It’s under $14 and is so modest!

Get it here: Burlington

Hope y’all are able to get some of these super affordable and modest skirts! Burlington is one of my go to places when looking for modest skirts! It’s a stop we always make when we are in Las Vegas visiting my Uncle because they have a huge store! I actually visted Burlington for the first time ever during a visit a couple summers ago! I got some of my most wornn skirts for such great prices! Thank you mom and Uncle Ron! LOVE YOU!

XOXO,

Bless others & Be blessed!

The Fresh Market Photoshoot

March 20, 2018

Blog photos in a grocery store? Are you crazy?

The short answer to that question is Yes.

Yesterday, we found ourselves in The Fresh Market in Rogers, Arkansas but it wasn’t for fresh produce as one would think…we had a full blown photo shoot in the candy section! The weather outside was muggy, cold & all but ideal so we sought out another location for some birthday photos! I suggested to my friend Myka (the birthday girl) that we should do our photos in a groecery store/candy store! I literally wanted to do a full photo shoot….she thought I was crazy! I finally convinced her of the possibility of greatness and we hit The Fresh Market-one of my all time favorite grocery stores!

The Fresh Market is good for everything even blog photos! Lol! I love to get fresh flowers, produce, sweets, funky water & CANDY at this fabulous grocery store! The workers, customers & people of NWA thought we were crazy to be doing photos & we were but y’all the photos were so fun! Also, you can’t go through life not having fun & every once in a while doing something UNIQUE! When leaving the store a few of the workers chatted with us about what we were doing & they thought we were the funnest girls ever! (I wanted to say we are!! Lol.)

Now we will never forget Myka’s 20th birthday & we have darling photos to prove it!

Here’s my favorite from the shoot & Myka is wearing the dress I got her for her birthday! I’ll link both of our outfits below! P.S. it’s nice to be sharing an outfit post-it’s been a while!

Spring Break So South

April 11, 2017

Spring Break So South

Hey y’all I am finally sharing the details from my exciting Spring Break trip!

To get started here’s all the stellar destinations we ventured to:

Biltmore Estate, Ashville, North Carolina

Ashville, North Carolina

Charleston, South Carolina

Kiawah Island, South Carolina

Sonesta Resort, Hilton Head Island

Hilton Head Island

Tybee Island

Savannah, Georgia

Macon, Georgia

I could spend days talking about how wonderful this trip was but I’m going to keep it short and sweet for y’all!

The Highlights & Must Do’s

Biltmore Estate was amazing in every possible way!!! I enjoyed venturing through the mansion with my family and it is an amazing space for taking photos. It is kind of expensive but I still recommend staying at The Inn because it is all things wonderful. If you get the opportunity to tour the greenhouse and gardens do so. In downtown Ashville, there are some charming little boutiques and a J Crew (you know I hit that up) where you can find great stuff. I picked up several goodies and did a little haul on Instagram way back when. Ashville is a great destination and I plan on visiting again soon! I give it an A+ I give it a B for being relatively expensive but you know live a little! Here’s the link to their website Biltmore Estate + they have a fabulous exhibit of classic English dramas and their costumes on display right now!!! YAY!

Charleston, South Carolina was everything. Oh my goodness y’all like seriously the best place to be! I don’t know if y’all watch Southern Charm but this is where the show is set. This was my first trip to Charleston and I can honest to goodness say I am ashamed I haven’t been sooner. There is so much to see, so much to do!!! If y’all don’t follow Gal Meets Glam you need to do that ASAP and see her guide to Charleston. (I’m linking it here Charleston Guide) My favorite Charleston highlight had to be just exploring downtown and taking photos or visiting Fort Sumter. Information linked here Fort Sumter) Oh & eat at Magnolias!!!

Kiwiah Island is amazing for a subtle day at a South Carolina beach! It was beautiful, clean, and relaxing! It was just what we had in mind! Check out my photos above and I’m linking that darling little dress below!

Sonesta Resort, Hilton Head Island was what vacation should feel like! Fabulous resort with a great location, beach access, amenities and room service! We enjoyed reading by the pool and spending time at the beach! I would recommend eating at Java burrito $$! There are great rates at Sonesta Resort during march!

Savannah, Georgia was as sweet as a peach!! Y’all I plan on living there in my next phase of life! It is insanely beautiful especially with the Spanish moss hanging low from the trees! AHH!!! I 100% enjoyed walking downtown and of course stopping in J Crew to get some goodies for national stripes day!  The grand news is that it is just 45 minutes from good ole Hilton Head Island for easy access and a fun adventure. I went to the most darling store Emily McCarthy downtown! I bought a special birthday present for my sweet friend Pia and a treat for my bestie/roomie Miranda Lyu. Those will be on my Instagram in the next few days so look for that! During my visit, I connected with the most fabulous gal ever! She works for Emily McCarthy and is just the definition of a sweet ole southern bell! I am so glad I met this doll! Go check her out on Instagram @erice2489 her name is Emily Rice!

Tybee Island was fun for ice cream and watching the sunset! I recommend coming to this little place if you get the time!

Macon, Georgia was so sweet! I went to check out my Alpha Delta Pi history and was reminded of why we are the FIRST, FINEST, & FOREVER. The sorority is by far the best in all the land and was the first sorority established like ever. In 1851 in Macon, GA at Wesleyan university by six stellar young ladies! We quite literally “LIVE FOR EACH OTHER”!! You can see my Instagram boomerang and realize just how excited I was!!!! YAY for being an ADPi and YAY for being in GA.

Of course, there is so much more I could share but in order to keep it short and sweet, that’s all! Please DM me or email me if you want to know any more details! I am linking my looks below!!! XOXO

Trendy, KPOP, just not my usual.

Hey friends!! I am so happy you are stopping in to 1998miss.com today.

Today’s daily style was inspired by my famous, fabulous, best friend, and roommate Miranda Lyu. She says this look is so KPOP which happens to be her favorite Korean girl group, and happens to be so precious that she gave me this compliment. I got this sweatshirt dress from Forever 21 like a century ago and am finally getting to wear it this season because Miranda got me this white Kenneth Cole sneakers!!! (for my 19th bday isn’t she just the best) Linked here!  love the comfort of this dress and especially like the black with white combo! It is not something I would usually pick to wear because I generally go more feminine and frilly….but I’m loving it! I’m going to link below a similar style + more!

A Classic Color Combo

Hey y’all I am currently overwhelmed with a to do list two miles long since Spring Break officially ended and the countdown to summer break started. (Honestly who wasn’t already counting down for that!!!) Before studying with my Alpha Delta Pi girls tonight I wanted to share this darling white shirt from Banana Republic that I’m wearing today!!! My mom bought me this classic chic top ON SALE which means you’ll be needing this Linked here!!! I love this shirt because it made my casual rainy day attire a tad bit dressy. The darted neck compliments my figure and the petite size means it actually fits me right!!! The white color is something I was a little skeptical of because I get everything dirty so if you’re like me you can get it in red!! I’m excited to add this little classic to my wardrobe and to wear it with a trendy vibe next!!

On a side note I am back from vacation so that means I will probably lose my consistency with blog posts but get excited because I am doing an all inclusive post (with all the major deets & secrets) about my trip South!! I will be sharing all of the best photos, foods, and venues with y’all! I want to say thank you to my mommy Sarinda Dudley for taking me on such a fabulous vaca and to my dad for some of the funds! My mom and little brother Luke are the ones who are behind the camera and I am so thankful for them. Luke tends to get a little annoyed with the constant photograph moments but I know when he tells strangers about 1998miss.com that he’s proud of his old sister!

I have a new boutique collaboration coming soon and I can’t wait to spill the secret about who it is!! That collab will be in early April.

I am in cram mode for my molecular biology exam….so pray for me. :(((

I’m starting a new health & fitness plan which I am super delighted about! I was thinking about sharing it on 1998miss.com….what do y’all think?

I am ecstatic about the new read I found today at DuPont Library and you can find it here! It’s Southern Living magazine’s 50th anniversary book! Southern Living is a magazine you can always find sitting on the coffee table next to a big pitcher of flowers at my home in Missouri! My mom is chic and she trained me to love Southern Living since I was just a little (okay maybe I picked up on it by following in her footsteps). My mom is FAB> The book covers the basis of where Southern Living started from to where it is now and a complete full look at every COVER EVER PUBLISHED!!! I also loved flipping through the pages to see beautiful images of the good old South.
