Faith Factor NAYC Night 1

July 26, 2017

Faith Factor

Wow!!! Posting after an amazing night at North American Youth Congress! So y’all gotta know about the Faith Factor message from NAYC17 preached by Brother Ensey! It was an incredible message with such relevance. We have to have a stronger faith factor than a fear factor. We are called so we must step out in faith!!!! We have a sword SO WE MUST USE IT!!!!! We will have situations in life where there is a strong fear factor but it is up to us to have enough faith to get through it! Trust in Jesus for he is the way maker!

I look forward to sharing more about my trip to Indianapolis, Indiana and all my looks along the way. If I can locate it I will link a way to watch service from my blog.

North American Youth Congress- Indianapolis, Indiana ❤️

July 25, 2017

North American Youth Congress

Indianapolis, Indiana!!!

Hey y’all 1998miss.com is currently en route to the coolest convention of all time. I am headed to North American Youth Congress in Indianapolis, Indiana! This is a conference being held at Lucas Oil Stadium where there will be well over 35,000 youth people all coming together to worship God. It is the biggest gathering of the North American Church. I am excited because of the great move of God in our day and time but also for the fellowship that is at NAYC. I have also packed MY BEST LOOKS for this convention and the best part is that they are ALL affordable! Praise the Lord. I am going to do my best to get each look uploaded by day but sometimes it is quite difficult to get it all done in one day! So I promise to Instagram Every day!

On a side note I’m blessed because my church rented a charter bus to travel to North American Youth Congress with all the perks + WIFI which means I am ALL SET. Praise Him.

I am excited because my sister Adrian, my mom Sarinda, and my brother Matthew are all attending from my family. WOOOO! HOO!!

We left our church at 3am and are headed to our first stop Six Flags in St. Louis, Missouri.

Follow along on the journey by following my story on Instagram @1998miss

Matthew 18:20 “For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”

Psalms 66:4 “All the earth worships you and sings praises to you; they sing praises to your name.” Selah

John 4:23 “But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him.”

Easy Steps to a Unicorn Birthday Party!!!

July 24, 2017

Unicorn Birthday Party!

Hey y’all today I am sharing all the details of my niece’s unicorn birthday. My mom is the one with all the party planning skills which I feel is her specialty. She is grand at planning a good party. I mean my entire childhood was filled with fabulous parties in which all my friends came and celebrated. MY MOM HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE COOLEST MOM.

So let’s get down with the details of this unicorn special.

The first step in planning a quick party or any party for that matter is establishing a theme. The theme here was simple: UNICORN.

The inspiration was found at my mom’s favorite store Home Goods where she found the most darling Unicorn napkins.

Step two is getting your decor together. You should already have cute candy on hand for a unicorn party which makes a great center piece. If you want to go all out for a party then having a few different sized clear jars from Home Goods is great. My mom special ordered a life size unicorn balloon because of 2 reasons: it makes the theme & balloons are all the rage (plus they have been her favorite for forever). We had some neon ribbon, a good venue (our beautiful dining room lol), cute cups, snazzy straws, napkins, a good table runner (multi color paper works well we recommend checking our your local paper store)!

Step three getting the cake! This is the focal point of the entire party which also is what brings the theme altogether! You can get a good cake at an affordable price if you are ready to assist the worker at your local Walmart, Harps or bakery. My mom got a personal cake for Nina and then some darling unicorn cupcakes for everyone else. For an extra sweet treat, we picked up a personalized neon cookie cake (which not going to lie we munched on for days after)! Once the cake was seated high atop a beautiful cake platter next to all the candy’s and special drinks (I’ll link a recipe below) the party was on.

I would def. say that these are the simple steps to getting a family party together but in all honesty thinks come up which is why you always know nothing is perfect. Your Instagram perfect party is what you make it. Enjoy the fun of putting together the party and the actual celebration. Just know that you are the person doing the planning which already makes it special. In the future, you will be more experienced and already know your methods + your unique spin on party planning. In the meantime hit up Pinterest, look for inspiration weeks ahead, and know that even we have had everyone unplanned party fail occur BUT IT ALWAYS WORKS OUT IN THE END.

Also happy birthday NINA! WE LOVE YOU SWEET GIRL.

OH, I TOTALLY FORGOT TO MENTION THAT YOU NEED A SUPER CUTE PARTY DRESS TO TIE IT ALL TOGETHER & FOR THE BEST PICTURES ASK EVERYONE IN ADVANCE TO WEAR A CERTAIN COLOR FOR THE PARTY!!!

Party Savvyyy Pictures Below!!!!

Also thank you, mom, for being the coolest mom on the planet and the one mom with extreme party planning passion. @_sarinda on Instagram.

Happy Birthday Nina!!!

I love you so much!

XOXOXO!

How you can get healthier and longer hair!

July 22, 2017

Healthy Hair!!!

I am so happy y’all requested for me to share my hair routine because I believe my methods have truly helped my hair grow. Aside from the typical, these are a few different things you can do to get closer to those long healthy locks of GLORY!

My journey

I have always been known to have long hair because of my faith but there was a time when my hair wasn’t so long. I experienced something I had never felt before and that was knowing my hair wasn’t what it used to be. I didn’t want to except that my long beautiful hair that once grazed my hips was now mid-back!!! How did this happen? Well honestly it was a number of things that lead me to this point and a there were a few significant changes I had to make in order to reverse this dreadful situation. I struggled with have perfect hair all the time syndrome (Yes I totally just made this up but in all actuality y’all this is a real thing) this is when you style your hair every single day with hot tools to get that perfect look! OKAY, Y’ALL THIS IS CRAZY. Why would we want to fry our beautiful hair to look “beautiful”? The answer is because we don’t know the power that is in our hair. Our hair is our gl0ry as women we should do our best to protect and care for it!!!! Once I started using heat protectant and went on a NO HEAT CHALLENGE FOR A YEAR things started to change. This was where I literally only put hot tools on my hair for the A-List items and honestly, I just learned to love sponge curls and my natural look! Slowly but surely there was growth!

The second thing I had to address was my eating habits. I had an unhealthy self-image which caused me to take a healthy life style change of losing weight to the extreme where I would derive my body of food. I lost around 50 pounds completely altering my body but to a point where eating food was something I enjoyed not doing. I acknowledge that losing weight is a good thing but it is when you begin starving yourself that it becomes a problem. I can even admit now that I am not thrilled with my body size but the difference is this time I’m going to change it with good measures. I also know that my weight is a number and there is always going to be someone who is prettier, skinnier, smarter, and more beautiful than me. But there will never be anyone else that is ME, nobody else will have the unique things that make me me. I also found my self-worth and image wasn’t coming from my GOOD, GOOD FATHER (Jesus) but was coming from the world. After I prayed and worked hard eventually I had a heart change and a big talk with Jesus where I learned he designed me just as he wanted me to be. I was reminded that my body was a temple of the Holy Spirit and that I should take care of it but that starving myself wasn’t the way. So all this is to say once I adopted good eating habits (giving up soda, drinking water, and actually eating nutritious foods) my hair slowly but surely started to grow.

The third thing I changed was my routine. I started taking vitamins every day (I’ll link them below), washing my hair twice a week with a shampoo that was actually good for my hair (I’ll link below), starting the inversion method, hot oil treatments, not hot tools, and loving the hair I had.

Before I get into more detail the answer is yes you will find that this was an expensive process but in the end, I have found that it is well worth every red cent.

THE GOOD STUFF

Vitamins: Vivscal (Under $50 Monthly, one pill per day!!!)

Shampoo & Conditioner: Living Proof ($25 per 8oz bottle, I also recommend the general shampoo)

The Inversion Method: Look it up on youtube, and google it! I hope to make a tutorial myself because I couldn’t find any videos worth sharing. BUT IT DOES WORK!!!!

Hot Oil Treatment:  Coconut Method

HOT TOOLS FOR THE A-LIST ONLY!!! I AM SERIOUS Y’ALL!

& FINALLY

Love the hair you have because it’s yours. You must be content with what you have before God can bless you. Recognize the beauty and power in your hair. Understand you must protect it to keep it.

& I’m gonna let you in on a little secret y’all the

#1 BEST HAIR GROWTH RECIPE

is prayer and drinking lots of water. I literally have prayed for my hair to grow every single day with a pure heart recognizing that my hair is my glory. I drink loads of water + plus write it on my prayer wall.

RESULTS: MY HAIR HAS GROWN SIGNIFICANTLY. I DON’T HAVE ANY EXTENSIONS IN & GOD HAS HEARD MY PRAYERS. THE OTHER THING IS EXTENSIONS ARE A GREAT QUICK FIX TO HAVING LITTLE OR SHORT HAIR. IN THE PAST I HAVE WORN TAPE IN FROM SALLY’S. WARNING THESE ARE A HASSLE AND THEY ARE EXPENSIVE.

1 Corinthians 11:15 “But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering”.

Love y’all ALWAYS.
