Sewanee Annual Christmas Tree Lighting
An Acapella Christmas!!
I was so delighted to get to be involved in the annual Christmas tree lighting at Sewanee by getting to sing Christmas carols with Cadence. We sang several of our favorites with the rest of the students of Sewanee singing along. They lighted the Christmas while our voices were high with Christmas cheer. As buddy the elf says “The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.”
The Vice Chancellor said some kind words and Santa Claus joined in on the celebration. It was the first time Miranda saw Jolly Old St. Nicholas and she was so happy! The most exciting part was that my mommy came to Sewanee for the weekend. It was great fun to see her and spend time with her. She came to lessons and carols which I worked at because I am a Sewanee angel. She really got to know her “Chinese daughter” or our little dumpling as I call her. Miranda has decided that she will love being one of my mom’s many children. She even thinks she will be the favorite because she is the only Chinese daughter my mom has. It was great fun shopping in Nashville and going to the Nordstrom club cardholders party! That was so fun because we accidentally stumbled upon this event, it was a catered event complete with a DJ and mini foods. We sipped virgin mimosas, ate mini grilled cheeses, and pretended to buy Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and Gucci. The dumpling loved this!!! We laughed so much we were almost sick. We also ate lunch in downtown Nashville at Southern which I give high marks! They have an excellent atmosphere and their food is to die for-AMAZING. You can see on my IG that we stopped at Draper James one of my favorite little stores where we enjoyed sweet tea and southern trends.
The best part of the weekend was when Miranda and my mom came to my new church with me. My mom finally got to meet my friends and church family! We were so happy that our little blessing from God Miranda came with us. It was her first time at a church and I couldn’t have been more happy that it was with me and my mom. I know that God placed that little dumpling in my life for many reasons and I am so happy watching his plan unfold in our friendship. My mom spoke a lot to Miranda about her potential and the blessings that God has in store for her life! Miranda even talks about the blessing that she is to me from GOD! I can’t wait until the next time she comes to church with me, and I am so glad she got to learn about the true meaning of Christmas with us. JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON.

TIS THE SEASON
While I was home over Thanksgiving break we had a delightful time getting to go to my favorite place ever!!! Arkansas (my real home :)) We spent time walking around the square and a good little bit at the coffee laboratory where I got some of the coolest pictures ever! It was so nice to share an evening with my family, I don’t always realize how special that truly is. I don’t think about time moving so quickly that one day this won’t be a thing. One day I won’t be a college student eager to see my friends and family. Instead one day I’ll be my mom waiting eagerly for my little girl to come home from college hopefully Sewanee. It will all have changed, so I’m choosing to savor all that I have-live in the moment and stop wanting STUFF SO MUCH BECAUSE IT IS JUST STUFF.

I LOVE Y’ALL LA LA LA LA LA
Happy Thanksgiving 2016!
I am so blessed yet, I don’t say it enough.
This was my very first Thanksgiving being home from college and what a difference. Just as everyone said it would be, it was a new feeling of longing connection. I was about 1/3 of the way done with my first semester and a ten hour drive later I got to hug my loved ones. I was so happy to be back with my family (living ten hours away is sure hard) and I realized just how much I missed them. Now imagine realizing the total honest truth about something but not being able to do anything about it or change it in any capacity. Now you’ll understand my emotions. Although I felt this way I was able to really feel thankful this holiday season not only for my family members but also for getting to see them and hug them tight. I was actually thankful for the things that God had given me and I didn’t have to remind myself to be thankful. We had our traditional holiday feast complete with cheesecake (my favorite) and boy you sure can tell I enjoyed it! LOL. (I’m currently trying to lose all that cheesecake weight + some other weight 😉 I am actually in a competition with my mom to see who can lose the most weight fastest and the winner gets an LV key chain bag!!!! But back on topic my family really enjoyed each others company and had some fun doing a few tries at the Mannequin challenge for my IG account. @1998miss That had to be one of the most fun aspects of dinner. You should go watch that video right now & you should give me a follow!!!!!! (Scroll to the bottom of the page and click my Instagram account) The darling table decor was put together by my fabulous mom who also newly redecorated our house! I hope someday she will start a blog because she really does some crazy incredible things!!! I also got to SEE SQUAD YAY! What a delight that was because another thing BEING AT COLLEGE WITHOUT THEM REALLY SUCKS BAD. We got to have a sleepover, a little black Friday fun and some Starbucks. We followed our usual tradition of 2AM hot tub time with fancy cups filled with coke zero, and 3 Dr. peppers. LOL. I also got several really darling things at Forever 21! I got 4 new pieces for my closet for under twelve dollars!!!! YAY! (I need to get rid of about 400 things tho, hoping to do a closet cleanup online). Oh and I am most delighted because this summer SQUAD is taking the trip of our lifetimes together!!! I won’t say where yet, you should guess lol! WE CAN’T WAIT THO. So we ended our time together by snuggling on carls bed with Pinterest open and laughter flowing. (I’m not a poet so idk why I even attempted that).

Cultural Fashion Show
The University of The South
Hey y’all! Finally here are some pictures from the fashion show. I was so excited about attending this event as it was so unique to Sewanee. The students involved in the line of clothing were all international students studying abroad at Sewanee. Many of my friends were involved and they did amazing! The event was held at the women’s center and was catered with some local cuisine! The tiger girls performed and also a Scottish dancer. I attended the event with my friends Annie, Isabel and Crystal! Next year I hope to get involved in the fashion show and potentially would love to walk in my Native American apparel. More details soon.
Here’s the details of what I was wearing to the show

Skirt: BCBG SALE $16.99
Shirt: Classic Black Tie, Target
Sweater: MAD MEN, Banana Line
Pointed Heels: Elizabeth Stewarts, Paris
I wanted to go with a classic look so I went with all black with a classic nude sweater! The cheetah print spiced the classic up just a little! I put on my pointed heels (Elizabeth Stewarts) that I literally bought in Paris, France during my trip to Europe with my mom and great grandfather! These shoes were the star of the show because they are so uncommon! I love the mix of brown and black too! I choose a wavy ponytail for two reasons, the first being I had like 20 minutes to get ready and the second pony tails are classic and so sleek! That’s it from this event and this look!
Great Job to the models! Great event Sewanee!
You know you love me,
Yes I just totally tried to steal this line from GG but it just wasn’t the same. LOL.
