Y’all today was the best Saturday! It was so relaxing to wake up a little later than usual and spend my morning catching up on what I love….my blog. Working on 1998miss.com makes me excited about all the wonderful blessings I have received being in the good ole south at SEWANEE. After a late lunch and a few episodes of FRIENDS we jumped in the car (Minghui, Danyang & I) to head to a TN pumpkin patch! It was around a forty minute drive with Danyang as the DJ playing pop’s greatest love songs! LOL. We had a blast. Oh I forgot to mention that my car was spotless because Danyang helped me clean it on Friday! It was like riding in a brand new Honda Civic! 🙂 She’s the best. At the pumpkin patch we rode the hayride, jumped on the bounce thing, did the corn maze, took fabulous pictures, picked perfect pumpkins, enjoyed live country music, watched the sun set & saw some farm animals! (This had to have been the girls favorite part, they love animals!!! Danyang was RUNNING TO PET THEM. IT WAS PRECIOUS.) After hours of fun we went to Murfreesburo for some sushi & it was DELICIOUS. Danyang spoke Japanese to the owners & I felt like the talk of the restaurant. She’s such a people person! She totally was the center of attention at the pumpkin patch with her classic black and white look. I seriously love her! Blessed God gave me her! So blessed. Alright y’all this look was simple! I paired my mom’s 1980’s polo with my DRAPER JAMES “SWEET AS A PEACH” graduation shirt for a casual yet dressy look! I loved it with my fav. denim jean skirt and those booties! My socks were even orange! If you’re in the TN area & you are interested in finding a pumpkin patch then if you’re looking for the best PUMPKIN PICKING EXPERIENCE to go to a different patch than McMinnville’s. It is great for a lot of fun activities but for a blogger it’s not what you’re wanting for photos. We expected a patch worth picking through grown pumpkins-this wasn’t that way! On the other hand you do get a lot in for only $10! They include all activities + a basic pumpkin in that price! If you have small children this is a great place, if you are wanting insta worthy photos-find a different patch.

The Cross at Sewanee. It has got to be one of the most beautiful spots that The University of The South has. It was even more wonderful that I got to take Miranda and Pia there. They had never been before and that was wonderful that they got to see the beauty of The Cross. This wasn’t just a “go to the cross for a blog post” but it was let’s have a real experience together! I’m cherishing every moment spent at Sewanee.

THE UNIVERSITY OF THE SOUTH
🙂 Another Sunday Best from Sewanee. This look was as fun as the time we had taking these pictures! I love pleats and and I love the little pony’s on this dress. It’s a grand fall look….twirling and whirling around. I had a great time with Miranda as I always do because she’s the best. Without Miranda my experience at Sewanee would be so much less than it is. I love her and I know God placed us together for many reasons. I’m glad I’ve found a friend for a lifetime. Who could have ever guessed that we’d come this far since the very start of our freshman year at Sewanee. I love you Miranda! You’re the very best roommate ever. P.S. This look was really simple & yes I added a slip extender.

HAPPY EIGHTEENTH BIRTHDAY MINGHUI!
So happy to have got to celebrate Minghui’s birthday in America! She turned eighteen! We had so much fun preparing for her big day too….we made signs and posters for the dorm room. I enjoyed researching Chinese culture and birthday traditions. I bought some candles for her and I made her the traditional yellow birthday crown! We made her wear it through McClurg and she was so nervous but everyone was saying happy birthday! Her smile was so big that day and it made me know how blessed I am here at Sewanee. In China tradition is that on the birthday you eat a bowl of noodles that is actually only one noodle hooked together. This noodle symbolizes long life! Isn’t that beautiful and so simple. We couldn’t get any “one bowl of noodles that is connected” so we decided we’d use some Ramen Noodles. LOL. It actually looked darling…..especially after the candles were lit! You know in America our birthday traditions are so different from China and I really liked learning about the Chinese traditions because I think the have a lot of beautiful simplicity. It was so nice to sit together at the balcony of McClurg as a dorm room of friends to sing happy birthday. Minghui is Miranda and my sweet mate at Sewanee. Minghui I hope that you enjoyed our celebration and that you know how blessed you are to be in America learning at the wonderful University of The South. We love you!
Rain + Polka Dots = A GOOD LOOK
So this is another look I put together for a Sunday here on the MOUNTAIN. I paired a few of my favorite older pieces with some newbies for this SHABAM look. My favorite part about this look was wearing it to The Pentecostals of Murfreesburo and walking down the isle and my shoe breaking. (The heel literally just broke off) None the less I still made the best of it with a grin. Right after church I had to run to Target before heading back to The University so I had to walk in target with one broken heal. LOL. A lady said “honey are you missing a heal”….it was so awkward/hilarious.
It was raining when I got up in the morning so I made this look to match my Sewanee yellow raincoat! It ended up being a bit overcast all day after the rain so it made for a darling look!

IN THE NIGHT
I’m loving my time here on the mountain, and this look was from a few weeks ago! I wanted to share it because I thought it was a fun yet traditional black and white look. I also was so happy to see how much longer my hair is getting! I’ve been taking vitamins everyday and saying prayers that it would grow long! It’s working- GOD IS GOOD! I also love the neckline of this blouse! It’s flattering and still so pretty! I also love that it was like four dollars and i’t so comfy! I feel like a million bucks when I wear it because it makes my upper half look trim!

SO PREPPY. SO PINK. SO SEWANEE. SO TENNIS.
The University of The South
Hey Y’all let’s get one thing straight I LOVE SEWANEE TENNIS. I think it has got to be the most fun sport I’ve ever participated in! I wish that I wouldn’t have given up tennis as a child, like my mom was cool enough to put me in lessons but I wanted to quit! Seriously it would have been awesome to be more involved with tennis. I’ve made some cool friends that I can’t wait to challenge in a game of tennis! Makes me think of back in the day….when everyone classy played tennis. If you were in relationship you and your significant other would play tennis. If you were classy and wealthy you would for sure have a court of your own! This is something I see in decline in America but Sewanee class isn’t letting the love for tennis die. I appreciate that Sewanee loves traditions of America’s finest! Anyways this look was a grand way to spice up the traditional tennis look….I’m wearing one of my favorite dresses! It’s my Vineyard Vines dress that I got in New England during last year’s summer vacation! It’s paired with my FAVORITE NEW BALANCES and some multicolor macaroon socks! (THX MOM) I bought these New Balance shoes on sale this summer and I couldn’t be more happy that I did. They are the best shoes ever! Classic for any look + comfy + they actually look rockin’ with a dress! My pink racket was darling because it totally matched this look! I bought the racket at Target and I was so psyched to be getting to use it! Hope you guys like this look!
