TN Camp Meeting – Night 3 ?

July 16, 2016

Just like every event that I attend, you save your favorite/best look for last. THE GRAND FINALE. My grand finale is grand because I feel chic & confident in my own look. I didn’t feel insecure that I’d be the only girl with a slick, tight, middle part with a blazer. I didn’t choose a frilly fun finale, but instead choose a confident classy look. This jacket screamed Chanel to me when I saw it in Banana Republic. I put it w/ my fav front slip Black Banana pencil skirt & MY PRECIOUS BABIES- My LOUBOUTINS. My mom let me borrow her bag & my look was grand. I liked being the different one, I loved feeling like an original-not a copy. Our fashion is supposed to express who we are so when we steal others ideas w/o crediting them we are basically saying we don’t want to be original but we want to be a copy. God made us as individuals, different but still beautiful in our own ways. Fashion is supposed to express who we are, what we like but it should also ALWAYS HONOR GOD. We are a temple of the Holy Spirit-God lives inside of us!!!!! We should adorn ourselves so that our temple is worthy of having the most high God live inside of us. God created us, we must honor his words towards how he wants us to dress as he explains in the bible. If we are not Holy then how is the Holy Spirit going to thrive inside of us? My mission is to make fashion my own, honor God, remain Holy, be an original not a copy, & let others know it is possible to be chic/trendy/fashionable/cute/beautiful & attractive without falling into the fashion of the world. We are Christians. WE ARE TO BE SET APART. Why should we look worldly when we are not of the world? The answer to this question is simple-there is no reason why we should choose to follow the fashion of the world!!!! Modesty is beautiful to men I promise!!! The world suggests showing more is “sexy” but God says differently. Men appreciate young ladies who keep modest as they keep their bodies holy. Men recognize that a woman who is dressed modestly is a woman who takes her body seriously. I choose to be set apart & I choose fashion.

Night 3 is my last night at TN CAMP MEETING 🙁 Brother Huntley from North Carolina brought a powerful message from God & made me excited to have truth in my heart. It made me excited that I’m moving to TN but also that I’m apart of something as great as the UPC. I took pictures with several friends as you can look through above!!! Love all of them! ♥️ After service my main group went to sonic & then drove around until we went to the late night mixer event. We played Soccer. YES I WAS ON THE FIELD IN THE ACTION. Then we went back to the Hotel & chatted 🙂 Memories!!!! We stayed up to late & went out with a BANG. ?

TN Camp Meeting – Day 3 ?

July 15, 2016

Bug Bug Bug

ALWAYS. I know it’s like my GO 2 PLACE.

Today was the coolest. W/ the coolest TN friends around. Lunch at Panera Bread then some time in downtown Murfesburo ? We shopped at some cool little downtown stores w/ some sweet southern stuff then we had some ICE CREAM at this little parlor w/ an arcade & a space galaxy theme. I had some Italian Ice-Cherry Sorbet & Orange Sorbet in a neon cup. My friends & I squeezed into a small booth & laughter filled the room. Next we stopped at a little music shop & explored. We made music for nearly 2 hours. We sang & others played. It was a memory I won’t soon forget. I love those guys. Regan played & I just sat & took in the music. It was beautiful. The atmosphere was amazing. ?? It made me realize in that instance I was making friends & creating memories that I would NEVER FORGET. I’ll always look back & remember being 18 in that precious moment.

TN Camp Meeting | Night 2

Maroon makes me happy!!! If you haven’t noticed, this skirt + the black one w/ the front slits are my major staple for a dressy look! Thanks to my favorite Banana Republic. ?? My hair choice is sleek but peppy-a curly HIGH top knot. It’s my go to style if I wanna turn heads (just teasing) but it’s my go to style because I truly love it. There is a short story that goes along with the shoes I’m wearing with this look-these cages came from Dillard’s like 2 years ago. I purchased these babies for a little over 50$ during one of Dillard’s fabulous shoe sales! My mom convinced me to spend my 16 year old hard earned Kiwanis Club Concession Cash to get these cages & I fell under the precious peer pressure  of my mom. I bought the shoes-obviously. Here comes the funny/devastating part, I wore my new shoes to Sunday morning church & after lunch I was walking to the car when the heel literally broke off! ??? The worst part was that I had already waited three days & missed my opportunity to take these back to Dillard’s. To speed this story up I’ll just tell you they ended up sitting in the box w/ the broken heal & my look of shame in the direction that they sat. In my preparation of packing for TN I pulled them out declaring I would wear them broken if I must- okay I exaggerated a bit. I decided I would complain to my mom about how I wanted to wear the expensive BCBG Cages she convinced me to purchase. Simple repair it was- we bought Locktight from Walmart in Murfesburo, TN at midnight & it worked. We debated for ten minutes on the right glue but settled with the one with the picture of a shoe. ? High ratings to my TN friends + Locktight glue. Praise God!! Now the outfit-

Talk about loving a look!!! I loved this church outfit/day time duo. I was able to feel dressed for success, yet comfy & ready to anything that TN had to offer! This is a classic look that was easily put together! It was basic color blocking + a sleeveless blazer. 😉 The wedges were the perfect tone of blue & they dressed up this look for church! Funny thing is I’ve had these wedges for about 4 years now!!! They are an old pair from The Limited. (I never knew this purchase would be wore into the literal ground ?) I’d like to call these wedges an investment of sorts-my first wedges. Alright y’all today we enjoyed five guys burgers for lunch & I had a lettuce wrapped bacon mini (it was delicious)! I’m back on my low carb diet-a simple fix is to loose the bread & get rid of the carbs. Carbs are not our friends-unless we are working out & enjoying heathy complex carbs. After lunch we checked out The Avenue for some shopping! I hung with my new friends from TN & TX 🙂 I enjoyed chatting with an IBC boy & a Urshan   boy about their ministry & experiences at bible college. It’s incredible how God has the best plan for us but we often take our own route not trusting God & find ourselves falling on our knees crying out for God to help us. God is a loving & forgiving God-so he forgives us as soon as we repent. Then we soon get back on the road but this time God reroutes our GPS & we head in the direction of our final destination of Heaven. Rascal Flatts were right when they said “Life is a highway” but they forgot to mention the fact that it’s the highway in which we were placed on to serve a purpose-the purpose that God ordianed for us & created us to fulfill. I’m happy to report that no matter how many times we fail God will forgive us & reroute our path despite the wrong turns (mistakes) we make. 🙂

TN Camp Meeting 2016 Night 1 ??

July 7, 2016

Commence! Regan & I made it to Murfesburo, TN for our first parent free road trip. We are totally excited to be here. 🙂 I’m currently writing this post from the comfort of my hotel’s SWEEET QUEEN BED TO MYSELF. I’m fighting everything in me to stay awake so I’m going to make this a pretty basic post & fill you in with more tomorrow on Follow me on IG for info on blog posts & on SC for hourly updates!

We stayed up way late with new friends at Walmart & The Embassy so I’m so tired. We ate at steak and shake for dinner after a powerful service preached by brother Soto! It was about letting go & releasing chains of addictions in our lives. Basically how Christians-Apostolic’s can be living freely in bondage. Whatever you do to take away your pain is something you put before God. It’s a lack of faith for you. Trust him friend & lean not on your own understanding. I love TN already & know I’m going to enjoy every second of this trip. Lord willing. Thank you Jesus!!!

In celebration of our freedom we grilled a classic American steak. It was delicious!! Served on adorable America plates with fresh corn/squash, baked potatoes & bald eagle cookies!! We also got a new grill & fired it up for the first time on July 4th! Dad & ran to buy sparklers for the evening & mom started cooking. We got a fresh watermelon from a farmer & had a fun time. Summer Daze w/ my bff ???????

July 1, 2016

I love you so much wabbs. Thank you letting me come stay. It made my day to get to spend it with you. We never get to do that & we got too! The food was delish & the pool was cool. I loved laying by the pool & getting some much needed sun, while having fun with you. You’re gorgeous. The little Bruncheonette venue in Joplin, MO was so cute. I had the French toast with bananas & it was SOOOOOOO GOOD. Abbie & TSmitty had the eggs Benedict on an English muffin w/  avocado and hollandaise sauce! My new teacher friend had the eggs Benedict w/ greens (she’s vegan) & beets  hollandaise sauce. It had to be the cutest! I loved the pink sauce! After the brunch (+ like 2hrs of convo) we went over to Frosted which is ONLY OPEN WEDNESDAY! To my delight they had an adorable venue in downtown Joplin + the cutest little logo! Abbie got the 3 layered patriotic baby cake!! It was sweeeet! They had other stuff but I loved the baby cake best. After we chowed down we said our goodbyes!! (Me to my new friends) We headed back to Galena, KS to grab our suits & head to the poooool! Yay!!! 4 sun tan! 🙂 tip: being tan makes everything look better 🙂 that being said I’m white as winter snow.

I am just wearing a JCREW painter T & a WALMART tie die maxi w/ my jacks. 🙂 My hair is in a bun to keep the heat off of it + it’s dirty.

ABBIE  I love you with all my heart, you rock girl! I couldn’t even live my life without you because you are my very very very best friend. I love you a bushel and a peck of berries, I love you to the moon and back 17,000 times, I love you 1000 village movie marathons, I love you 1 million Silverdollar city trips, I love you seven tubes of toothpaste, I love you because you’re my sister. I’m gonna miss you at Sewanee.

P.S. oh ya after Abbie’s I went to church & then the book store to get my first Sewanee books for class!!!

The pic of me in the “oh whale” vineyard vines shirt is from one day this week!!! 🙂 I got this shirt in New England last summer.

The pic of me in my pink “you’re killing me smalls” tank is from yesterday! It’s exactly how I feel about June being over. 🙁 I’m busy working!!

Weekend Getaway!!! ?

July 1, 2016

Yayyyy. My family got a little getaway to Branson to see Moses. It was an incredible performance. I do have to say that our seats for the show were really bad but sight & sound theatre gladly made it right. We were seated in the front row in the farthest section to the right. We couldn’t see a thing. At the front desk they took care of it! The last time we went to this theatre we had awesome seats so I think it just depends on the time! I’m glad to see a Christian theatre doing such an amazing thing-promoting biblical stories. My family & I dined at Montana Mikes where my dad bought me this keychain with our pictures for me to look at when I move away. It was kind of a bitter sweet evening. Alright I better get to giving y’all the details of my look.

Dress: London (here’s a similar dress)

grandma’s girl #arcamps16

July 1, 2016

This look was a favorite of mine & one I’ve had for awhile. I actually have had this little dress from JCREW for around a year. I wore it last year for the first time on the 4th. I put it with this exact nude sweater (a staple in my wardrobe) but instead a vineyard vines patriotic ball cap & boots & a red belt!!!! So you see, you can spice things up a bit! This Navajo Indian belt belonged to my beloved Great-Grandma Virgina- “nana gina” so I felt proud to be wearing something of hers. I actually wore the belt backwards if you must know!!! It’s the kind that you can attach your own buckle!! How sweeeet. My great grandma Virgina was my second mom & my best friend. She taught me life lessons I’ll never forget, she was the most faithful, true & loving woman of God I’ve ever met. She put others first ALWAYS. The scripture about love thy neighbor as thy self was her motto. She taught me that life experiences are worth more than items. I met so many people through my grandma & still do because she impacted every person she came in contact with. Just yesterday I was doing canvassing for the tea party in Seneca & I thought of her & her legacy that she left. I would say I’m Virgina’s granddaughter & people would light up & welcome me in with open arms. If I can tell you anything it’s that I want to be a woman with this kind of legacy, one that lives on even after she dies. My grandma had God as her number one always. I can remember as a child if my sister & I started to argue she would say “let’s not do that! Love! This is the day the Lord hath made & I will rejoice & be glad in it”. My grandma would do anything with us, or for us. Many of my first memories are cooking with my nana in the kitchen making pancakes. She made the best ones!!! Adrian loved her fried chicken. Anyways I wanna be like my “nana Gina” in everything I do. Who do you think of when reading this? Who exemplifies these qualities? Do you have something from someone that you treasure? Comment below!!!

p.s. The beautiful girl in my picture is THE ASHLEY SMITH. A great woman in my life that is now a millennial ester for me. She’s beautiful inside and out. She’s insightful & I love her! She truly connects with young people. She has the cutest kids & her husband + her make the most awesome couple & have a beautiful ministry. What a role model. So blessed I got to meet her. I hope one day to be a woman of God like she is. When I think of Ashely I think…..

Proverbs 31:10-31 King James Version (KJV)

10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.

12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.

14 She is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar.

15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.

16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.

17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.

18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.

19 She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.

20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.

21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.

22 She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.

23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.

24 She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.

25 Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.

26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.

29 Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.

30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.

31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

Thank you for connecting with me Ashley. I love your kids Oden & JJ!!
