Blue Little Miss- BLOOD DONOR FUN

September 28, 2015

FIRST TIME BLOOD DONOR

I GAVE BLOOD & LOVED IT.

Yay!! I’m a first time blood donor & I loved it! Today was a Monday & Monday’s can be a total drag but I followed my rule of thumb for Monday’s and dressed up, so my day was already off to a good start.  SQUAD had signed up to give blood today & I was out of the loop because I didn’t even know we had a blood drive going on….so I decided I would do it too! Since I’m seventeen I didn’t even have to have parent consent so I figured yay! my first adult like act! As soon as I started the process and got my finger pricked fear started to set in but I regained my composure since I had my besties by my side. After the over analyzed and dramatic prick had occurred, I realized I was acting nuts for no reason! I gave blood on my own and potentially saved lives! What could be better than feeling this good and spontaneous on a Monday?! (Nothing) 🙂

P.S. I got to miss class, eat free snacks, hang with my SQUAD, get a free t-shirt & potentially save loves! If you have a blood drive in your community or school get involved, it’s so worth it!

GOOD OLE WORDS

As we trek home from TN I decided to use the time in the car to my advantage and get some homework done. My trigonometry homework is always a joy to do (SARCASM)….but instead I started my Leadership quotes PowerPoint! 🙂 I enjoyed this assignment so much that I wanted to share it with the blogosphere! As my family shared their favorite quotes with me (an interesting conversation), I determined that words are truly impacting and beautiful!   My challenge to you is to you use some of your down time to Pinterest or google some uplifting quotes and share them with your friends and family!

P.S. I promise this is a “pick me up” and it WILL INFACT BRING A SMILE TO EVEN THE FROWNIEST FACES.

P.P.S. Comment below a quote you love or even better, one you wrote!

Sewanee- “Sweet Southern Style”

September 26, 2015

SewaneeThe School of The South

SWEET SOUTHERN STYLE

This weekend we took a quick & spontaneous jaunt over to Sewanee, TN… after attending General Conference (UPCI & Blessings) at the Nashville City Music Center! After conference my mom mentioned touring The School of The South while we were in TN & to our surprise we found that fall preview weekend was happening while we were in TN! It was a blessing that there was still room, even as last minute as it was, for me to join in on some Sewanee fun! I was delighted to meet such inspiring students and facility on campus. I was in awe of the structures and beauty Sewanee had to offer. The campus is modeled after Oxford University in England. The traddition of the South was on display with the hospitality I felt! I want to give a shout out to Sewanee blogger I met while visiting… https://www.hercampus.com/school/sewanee/blog  Such an awesome display of Sewanee pride!

P.S. They have a killer equestrian team/facility.

With matriculating on my horizon I am carefully contemplating becoming a Sewanee (SWEET SOUTHERN BELLE)!!!

The day in which it is totally acceptable to be decked out in RED. BLACK. & WHITE. & CRAZY.

I was chosen by my favorite football team ever (THE MCDONALD COUNTY MUSTANGS) as a queen candidate for the senior class! This was a huge honor and secretly a dream of mine because who doesn’t want to get super dressed up and cheer on there fav. team in a formal with the best seats on the side lines? I do have to mention that it was a bit different then cheering as a Varsity Cheerleader! I had the best escorts ever: Daniel De Santiago & Caleb Spears! Other queen candidates were: Queen Bethany Stanton, & Wynter Weeks. Attendants were: Natalie Staib, Maddison Hall, & Kayla Burkholder! These are just a few snapshots of me during the day before I transformed for our 50th Homecoming! (A post will be up specifically with pictures and details about my look!)

*I hope you see just how much fun costumes are & how it’s super important to get involved in your child’s spirit week or your own spirit week! Don’t fret about cost but focus on finding bargains! I love Spirit Week and I would love for you to love it too!
